Taureau Leather
Valley
Taureau is an aniline leather with a soft touch, it’s intriguing appearance is both dusty and lustrous at the same time. These effects distinguish it from others on the market along with the smoothness and large size of the hides. This leather is taken from European bulls, and the lime splitting method is used which allows for a smoother surface. It should be remembered that leather is a natural product and as such characteristics such as wrinkles and healed scars should not be considered as flaws, in fact on the contrary, they are evidence of the authenticity of its natural origin. The tanning is done in Italy using the Chrome mineral method, any pollution created in the water during the process is purified prior to being released to the environment. All hides are purchased from accredited farms in Europe.
Aniline leather does develop character with age/use, it is more susceptible to mark, stain and scratch and fade in direct light so take care when selecting to make sure it suits end use and placement within the home.
Composition: Aniline
Light Fastness: 4-5
Care
Avoid anything that could scratch it, as nubuck is softer than some other varieties of leather and should be treated with care.
Leather is a natural product characterised by the unique tone and individual markings that the animal has acquired during its life which may include creases and stretchmarks, scars and insect bites.
Some softening and stretching of the leather is to be expected with use.
Wipe leather with a clean, damp white cotton cloth on a weekly basis to remove dust and dirt particles that can work their way into the hide and abrade the surface.
To refresh your leather, care packages specifically designed for aniline and finished leathers are available at your nearest Jardan store.
To treat difficult stains, we recommend contacting a specialist leather cleaner who can also assist with regular treatment of the leather to nourish and prolong the life of leather upholstery. Specialist Nubuck Leather cleaning product required.
Keep your leather furniture at least 30cm away from any sources of heat. Prolonged exposure to heating vents or radiators will cause your leather to dry out, crack or harden.
Please Note
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the colours depicted on our website of materials and products accurately reflect the way they appear in person, Jardan advises that there may be variation between these due to a combination of factors including computer monitor, screen settings and lighting as well as a level of true variation in the products themselves. We work with many natural materials as well as handmade artisan products where a level of variation is to be expected and celebrated. It is therefore recommended that you view products in person prior to ordering where possible, or request swatches and additional information from our sales teams.
