FAQs about Armchairs

What materials are used in Jardan armchairs?

Jardan armchairs feature sustainably sourced hardwood timber frames, premium leather or fabric upholstery and high-resilience foam cushioning. Selected pieces in our range also incorporate brushed steel or powder-coated metal accents. Sustainability isn’t an afterthought, it’s built into every material we source. For example, 64% of our leather and 100% of our wool, down and linen come from certified suppliers in FY2024, reflecting our commitment to responsible procurement. How to take care of your armchair? To help your fabric last, we recommend protecting it with help from our trusted partners at Premium Surface Protection (PSP). For general upholstery care tips: Fabric armchairs: Vacuum weekly to remove dust, dirt, and any loose feathers. For spills or stains, gently blot (don’t rub) with a clean, damp cloth as soon as possible. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners as they can damage the fabric’s appearance. For deep cleans or tough stains, contact a professional fabric cleaner. Leather upholstery: Leather naturally collects dust and needs a little care to stay looking its best. Wipe down weekly with a clean, damp cloth to prevent dirt from settling into the hide. For tougher stains or regular conditioning, we suggest working with a specialist leather cleaner to nourish and maintain the surface.

What is the lifespan of an armchair?

Jardan adopts a 'Made for Life' philosophy, meaning your armchair might deliver between 15-25 years of exceptional performance. Premium materials and construction techniques ensure structural integrity across decades, with regular care extending the lifespan significantly. The hardwood frame often outlasts upholstery, allowing for the reupholstering of current Jardan designs, to refresh the appearance while preserving the foundational investment.

What size armchair should I choose for my space?

Proportion is key when selecting an armchair. We suggest measuring your space and allowing a 60cm clearance around your chair. Aim for balance, ensuring the piece sits comfortably without crowding or disappearing in the room. A well-scaled armchair will anchor the space while maintaining harmony and allowing ease of movement.

What are the different types of armchairs?

From restful lounge chairs to expressive accent pieces and ergonomically considered reading chairs, our range is built to support every mode of living. Each piece is tailored to distinct moments and settings, unified by our enduring Made for Life ethos. Discover a range of materials and forms that shift subtly across styles, offering sculptural and beautiful armchairs to suit any aesthetic.
