From backyard cricket to having Nonna’s panettone for boxing day breakfast to top secret eggnog recipes, we caught up with our team member, Shakira on what coming home for the holidays means to her.
What does coming home for the holidays mean to you?
Spending time with family and eating good food.
Who do you celebrate the holiday season with?
My mum is half Italian, so the holidays is a big family affair, all my aunties, uncles, cousins and my mums’ cousins and their kids too.
What do you do for the holiday season?
EAT! I usually do a potluck Friendsmas in December sometime, and with my family I’ll celebrate on Christmas Eve and Christmas day with long lunches and dinners.

What’s on your dining table for the holiday celebrations?
First course is always lasagna, the next course is salads, lots of seafood and roast chicken. One of my aunties also has a top-secret egg nogg recipe, and my other aunties speciality is Tiramisu.
What gift did you choose from the Jardan Holiday Gift Guide? Who is it for and why did you choose it for them?
I chose the Moisemont Bag. I chose this for my sister, her and I can’t get enough of the beach in summer, and this is the perfect beach bag. The little beauty bag is also great too for sunscreen and lip balm.
What is your favourite thing about the holiday season?
Spending time with my family. Growing up I spent most weekends with my cousins, and now the holiday season is the one time of the year that we can get all of us together at the same time.
